Default AMR "Custom Pistons"

I called AMR today because I am looking to do a pretty extensive build, which includes nitrous, built block and a FP RED. I talked to the person there who seems like is in charge of a lot and knows most of what is going on there. He told me all these great things about their pistons, but unfortanetly wouldnt disclose who actually makes them. He first stated that they were their own pistons, and all the research was done to make them perfect. Then i asked what pistons they start out as and he wouldnt disclose that information, I then said well I am not too fond of putting one of the main parts in my engine and not even knowing what it started out as. Long story short I guess I will have to choose between wiseco pistons and CP. Does anyone have any advice as to which ones to go with. Thanks.

I also have a fully built AMR motor with their pistons, rod, and crank in my '05 LGT. We've had it up to 460HP with no internal issues.

Well the fact of the matter is that there is no technical information about their pistons, they just say that they have done a lot of research and development and they are the best. I would love to know what type of aluminum is used and actually get some pictures of them.

Thank you for the kind words. Our pistons are custom designed to our specifications. Nothing against anyone, but who makes our piston is not relevant. It does not matter what company makes them, because they are not to anyone's specs but ours nor close to anything you can by off the shelf. In our field, there are a lot of competitors, so in order for us to stay on top of our game we must keep certain things hush-hush. It is not important who makes our pistons for us, what is important is the way we had them designed, the quality, and that we back up our products 100%.

Info on who makes the product is proprietary to the business. In other words, they would prefer not to disclose it to protect their own from competition.

But they could still give us a little spec and info of the product just like the competition. I think that's what the OP is trying to get.

The OP is more then welcome to give us a call and we can give him the specs on our pistons. If I am not mistaken I believe we did over the phone, just did not answer his question regarding who makes them.

I believe AMR stated why they cannot give out specs of their pistons on forums above in the previous post. Their pistons are custom made to AMR's specs. If they were to give out that information, it could be detrimenatal to their business. Besides, if you were looking at these pistons, you would at least call the shop and get as much technical information as possible before buying them. I know Rob has no problem giving specs to potential buyers over the phone, but on a public forum where competition is learking, that information cannot be disclosed.

I've had AMR's pistons, rods and crank for over 1.5 years now, without any issues. My car puts down 530whp on AMR's dyno's and my motor has been through numerious dyno pulls, and has over 8,000 hard miles on it.......and still runs strong!! AMR builds quality products!!
