Putting those 2 companies is the same sentence is a joke.

why is it a joke? Sure, Cosworth has been around longer and has a nice history. But that doesn't mean a new company can't come out with something better. Wow, like that's never been done before, a new company besting an old one........

I'm not saying Crawford is better, idk if they are. But don't be close-minded about it just because Cosworth has been around longer and (obviously) has championships under its belt.

If you have something productive to say, then say it.

I wouldn't say WolfPlayer's response was purely based on the fact that Crawford is "new".

"bobblehead" - the legend continues (starting on page 10)

while this does hold true sometimes, in this case you obviously have no clue about crawfords history. Besides, if you don't know if crawford is any better, why would you say anything at all?

Have you also looked at AR Fab, Cobb, Axis or AMR blocks? There are many companies that make amazing blocks. It is my firm belief that i would get the block from the company that can provide me the best service. As much as I would want a cosworth block, I can't see I could get the customer support like I could from a local builder, its nice being between AR Fab and AMR, lol. Crawford has had some issues in the past but they have seemed to improve their customer service in the past year. Many still don't trust them even if they don't have first hand experience.

Although your response makes sense if I was a n00b, the fact is - I am not a n00b. Search here and on NASIOC and read everything you can about Crawford. Now do the same with Cosworth. My short response was also related to the fact that a search would have revealed a ton of information if only you would have spent an hour+ researching. Moreover, if you are buying an engine, shouldn't you be researching for many hours instead of just making a post like this?

The reason I made that post is because your post didn't give any useful info besides the history of cosworth. Sure, you might not be a noob, but you didn't present it that way. Well, I AM a noob to engine builders, and your post gave nothing in terms of comparing the two except for history, which you didn't even give crawfords history, only cosworths. How is that suppose to help the thread?

And I could spend hours researching them, but 1) I am not purchasing an engine build, merely seeing if I could learn something quickly and 2) thats why we have a message board, to share info.

So, care to share why cosworth is better? Crawford has had some serious customer service and quality issues, but did cosworth ever have problems? Not one, in all these years?

I'm just trying to pick up some opinions and info from the thread, posting a wikipedia link about the history of cosworth and not even mentioning crawford doesn't help. Now what 300hp did was add some info, you know, the point of a forum.

evil, that's the exact reason I made the post. because I don't know, and the other members' post did not give any useful info.

The thing is history does matter. Experience is key to building just about anything especially engines. Nobody likes buying the first or second model and I bet you don't want to be a guinea pig to some new engine builders . Leave the prototyping to the rich and stupid and the hobbiest and stick with something you know thats reliable unless you want to take a risk which I think you don't.

However the point of a message board is NOT to share the same info over, and over, and over again. If you are truly interested in learning more about the two companies, searching the forums is the first place to go. Simply tossing a post out there and expecting others to do your work for you is disrespectful to other forum members, IMESHO.
