I was looking at this exact setup but with a GT35r. Let me know what labor is on the engine work not the heads just the internal rebuild.

Well started to take measurements and do the math, with the parts I have purchased I will end up with a 9.18 to 1 compression ratio and the best news is TDC is .002" lower from the deck than stock so (I still need to do the math on the cams BUT) I will be able to run AVCS without the scare of kissing a piston .

sorry for the late results but engines been mocked up a few times, destroyed a set of avcs pulleys to make a degree tooling to see where the valves are in relation to piston clearence. I have also ditched the 30r for a 35r .82 Ya I know ate my words LOL.

I'm on the twinscroll bandwagon right now, so maybe look at a APS TSR70 (with a proper compressor housing) or even a Full-Race GT40R. Hello spool and hello power.

Why not? You have the safety of your block to back all that power up.

The 35R is the perfect turbo for this set up as a DD. I was thinking that the 30R was too small for even the 2.5 block.

(0.82 > 0.63)

I'm interested in this kit as well, got a few questions for you. After you installed the darton sleeves was there any extra machining required to acheive enough clearences (eg crank to sleeves or block). Can you get a head gasket to suit the 102 mm bore.
Also what spool are you hoping for on the 35R I'm running a twin scroll GT30R with a 1.06 ex housing at the moment but looking at upgrading to a twin scroll GT35R . I'm still trying to decide on the compression ratio for my build as I am running 2L Sti heads.

thanks

The hotside(.82 did you say) is gonna limit you on that setup. You are gonna be pushing to much air out of the motor for it to make max power. It will spool crazy fast, but youll be leaving power on the table. There is a guy down here in Austin that has a cosworth block and heads and the APS TSR70 kit and with the stock hotside(82 I think) they left alot of power on the table because the motor was pushing crazy amounts of air. They switched to a 1.02 or 1.06 hotside(not sure) and he made about 60 more hp. Here is a link to that post http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1238228
When they switched the hotside it made 540 whp. There is another tread on that.
