Default How long to install a new short block.

Basically dealer has my car for 3 weeks and they've had the new short block since tuesday of last week. I'm going though withdrawl. They don't know when it's going to be done, maybe wednesday. I don't think it really should take this long I haven't had my car for the whole year! . On top of that I have to break in the motor and clutch, no boost for me. Still haven't really decided on the breakin method that I'm going to use.

Its a days work, but then again when I did it I started at 2 in the afternoon and stayed till 10 the next morning. So a days work for me may not be the same for other people. I was by myself though so it took me forever to do simple tasks like putting the headers on.

It had about 50k on it, the #1 rod bear went and the #1 rod bent. I asked then what happen to cause it and they don't know, but they are covering it under powertrain warrenty. Before I took it in it was making a ticking sound when I turned right then it got worse to the point it ticked al the time I thought it might be the axel at first then decided to take it in.

i'd say a day once the motor is out...for one thing, you're basically installing everything on the motor when it's out of the car making it a lot easier.
if they're only working on it litltle by little, then i guess a long time lol.
