Thanks for the congrats man.

I might ditch the SR55 - who knows... Won't be sure if I want to keep it until I get it tuned. If it under-achieves I will probably look for alternatives. Honestly though, it feels as though it's going to be pretty darn responsive. If it's responsive and puts out more power than a green then I probably will keep it... At least for a while until the power bug bites me. I got such a darn steal on the turbo I might as well run it for at least a little bit to see what she's got.

I'm up to 75 miles now. All is good.

I'll probably stop doing mile by mile status posts now.

This was a great engine the time I owned it. I sold the car in March and as far as I know the buyer is still using the engine and loves it. Last time I had an email exchage with him was a couple months ago.

Numbers were decent for that turbo. On a very, very conservative tune on the Buschur mustang dyno the car put down 342 whp and 330 wtq. This sounds low, but a stock STI only puts down 220whp on that dyno.

I was going to do another tune with pump & race gas and higher boost, but I sold the car before getting a more aggressive pump gas and race gas tune...

It probably has more to do with the fact that APS turbos have consistently underperformed. Plus a mustang dyno is the lowest reading dyno.

this is why i ask about the psi, with the sr55 i had i was making 350whp @ 21 psi on a mustang on a completly stock internal 2.5.

I wasn't interested in impressing people with dyno numbers. The plan was to do an ultra conservative pump gas tune and then wait about 4-5 months and go for bigger power on both the pump gas and race gas tunes.

A guy made around 360 whp on that dyno with a rotated GT30R turbo. I'm sure with more appropriate pump gas tune I would have made that much or more. It's just a low reading dyno. That's a pretty good comparison of around about what the turbo should be making since it's a GT30R center section bolt on.

Buschurs dyno is a very very low reading dyno. Those numbers are not bad at all for a conservative tune on that dyno and boost. Easily a mid 11 second car with those numbers on that dyno.

I don't think this is a case of a aps turbo not working well, although many times it is the case.

Also forged internals don't give you power, they give you longetivity and strength, the heads would help a fair amount though.

yeah the internals are in support of the cams/headwork and everything that adds power

Getting forged rods and pistons do not increase power.
