Hello,

From what you've described, I'd suggest our Stage 2+. This block includes:

-Forged custom spec Wiseco pistons
-Forged Pauter connecting rods
-Modified (lightened, magnafluxed, nitrated) STi forged crankshaft
-Coated ACL Racing bearings
-Balanced to withing 1 gram

It's well under $5000. As compared to most other companies Stage 2 blocks, it's the same price but includes the modified crankshaft. We have run multiple 10 sec. passes and multiple 625+ CHP dyno pulls on this shortblock with absolutely no ill effects. If you'd like to speak to some customers running this block, please let us know and I'll try to put you in contact with some of them.

Thanks,

Geoff

All the bad things you hear about crawford blocks are not all true. most of the problems with any of these motors are tuning. there is also a break-in period that people do not respect. especially with forged pistons if you dont break them and the rings in properly you will have problems with clearances. this is all that crawford does is build blocks. quirt has had experience with subies since the early 90's. I think they know there stuff, but the installers and tuners aren't going to take the blame for destroying one of there blocks they are going to go back to the builder. I've done the research and im going for nothing other than crawford and the s4 comes with a billet crank.

dude, before you open up your mouth about the crawford's quality control and his penchant for blaming world class tuners for his negligence, come have a conversation with me. you can carry crawcrap's jock strap over at nasioc but you'll be laughed out of here for regurgitating his party line.

my project has been down 4 months from his negligence.

and another post on an i-speed/crawcrap thread on nasioc from the same guy:
I have a sti but dont have the money to buy any of crawford's block yet. but i have called as many people as i can that have installed there blocks and have only heard good things. If you talk to these guys on the phone like i have done many times (probably annoying chris).[[snip]]

sounds like you talked to chris so many times, you actually memorized his speech. btw, i'm sure chris explained to you how pistons expand but did he explain to you how they can shrink like a wool sweater in the dryer?

honey...i shrunk the pistons.

imagine how thrilled i was to see crawford doesn't only screw their u.s. customers.

I wonder how long in terms of miles a stage 2 tuner block from cobb would last at around 500 whp...
