we're going to have to take your word for it because cosworth, vivid and automaster neglect to mention anywhere in the decriptions or specs that they are avcs.

Why's that? Just wondering because I ordered swaybars, springs, and a couple of other things and i got them all within a week. I just want to be aware of anything shady is all. Thanks.

I ordered these about 1 week ago, and they will be arriving sometime next week (pictures will be in my journal on this forum). The stage 1 cams are perfect for the street and will make more power throughout the power band, as well as help with spool up time. These do not cause a lumpy idle, and the car will drive like stock...except with more power. If you give me a couple of weeks, to install them (and break in the motor) and have the car tuned, I will give you my impressions of them on my car.

If your looking for a good place to purchase the cams, or need to know more information about them go to:

http://www.automasterofwestchester.com/pistrodcams.htm
That would be awesome if you could do a review on them after you have properly broken them in. Do you really need to break in cams? If you do then this will be good knowledge for me as I have been told otherwise before. I am very interested in getting some cams for more power with my stock turbo setup because I don't really want to switch turbos right now. I got the K&N Typhoon already for intake so now I plan on getting just a downpipe. Hope that will be enough to make use of cams aside from getting them tuned. I would also be very interested in how they idle. Any chance that you'll get them dyno tuned? Thanks.

Bruce I seen a post on NASIOC or maybe ut was here about the DPR cams and some error about the pickup sensor? Maybe you want to look into that before throwing them in? Just fyi in case you didn't hear about it, I was about to buy some cams but am awaiting word on this issue.

well then, you heard it here first, anti. thanks for looking out for me but that pickup sensor problem turned out to be an installation issue. i'm getting terrific service from dan paramore at dpr.

Kelford also produces AVCS compatible cams.

I heard that some DPR cams were not manucatured exactly to specs, and their AVCS failed to work properly at some applications. There was a thread about this at NASIOC, and people essentially blamed the machine guy of DPR for poor quality production. I can't back these stataments, just so you know..

When you swap cams, you'd better get a port and polish job at cylinder heads, too. 30+% airflow increase is the norm at such a P&P since USDM STI cylinder heads are pretty restrictive, and you would gain a lot, provided that you have a big turbo to push for it
