Keep us informed. The more info the better. Also inlcude idle quality on both clear and rainy days. Cams are a great mod if they work well, but when they dont idle... well you just want to light the whole car on fire and claim it on insurance.

i have hydra and phil grabow to get the idle squared away. depending on how it's running, i'm either driving or trailering it straight down to md for a dyno tune (93/c16) as soon as we're finished. we are also adding rc 1000cc injectors. i'll be putting my 816cc perrin modifieds and perrin fuel rail up for sale shortly.

I take it the perrin 816 cc aren't cutting it at your power level now bruce. Would the slight injector upgrade to the PE 850 have been enough? Or does your fuel use really require 1000cc!?

good question, sniper. the 816's are cutting it at the current power level but they are running out of room at phil's current power level (i think about 545 whp) and i expect to easily exceed that. phil does not like pe 850's particularly and has already installed rc 1000's on the element time attack with good results. i follow him. he's also experimenting with larger turbos and who knows what i'll be swapping onto my rotated setup as we move forward.

There were some ongoing issues with the timing signals from the DPR cams... I guess there have been several issues.

Im all over cams... Im amazed they arent a big mod item like they have been in my domestic projects.

Im a big fan of the "Stage2" cams. If they turn out to be reliably manufactured soon, I'll start squirriling some money away (with valvespring/retainer/lock money) 220/220 on a ~114 should idle very nicely.

Not hating, but have you read that thread? On the last pages it gets interesting...with the puerto rico guys doing all their runs with stock cams maybe you'd be better off waiting for DPR to change their supplier.

i read the same thread. i've done enough investigating to be comfortable with my decision. those sinc issues turned out to be installation issues and and not a quality control problem. phil was very involved in the thread and i'll be trailering it down to him for tuning when it's finished.

pitcherman, you mean 1000cc injectors will negatively impact fuel economy?

next month sometime, kevin. obviously, the sooner the better. we're making use of the opportunity while the motor is out to get it ready for the next phase.
