| Lurker Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Hey everyone I have a serious question and need all the information that I can get about this little idea I have. I was wondering is it possible to add a supercharger to an STi (07). I know with superchargers they are belt driven and are mainly used on the front end power. While turbos kick in later for back end power. I know one wouldn't gain much horsepower maybe 30 more or so because some horsepower might get canceled out from the turbo. However you would add some torque which would be nice. I think the engine on the STi has enough compression to allow the supercharger to work without blowing a piston or something. The thing with superchargers is that they are constantly running (correct me if I am wrong) Let me know what you think and if you have any info or if anyone has ever messed with superchargers before let me know. I would appreciate it and thanks in advance. |

Bottom line: Considering turbocharger technology today, there really is no reason to run a twincharged setup unless you have a MASSIVE turbo. And even if you do, it's probably better to run a sequential turbo system. Twinscroll and ball bearing turbos do wonders these days.

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2009 | Agreed with the twinscroll over twincharging. I want to replace my stock turbo with a twinscroll at some point. It's a little spendy though, and usually requires a FMIC for best results. But I'm just a noob, so I might be wrong. |

| Lurker Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Hey guys thanks for all the replies, so it looks like twinscroll is the way to go. Or swap out the stock turbo with a massive one. I was talking to this one guy about twincharging today and he said you would have to run a higher octane even higher than 93.. i think he said 96 .. and i was like waaaa O_o.. is this a fact?? |

i you are building the car to get high top end and high dyno numbers, then swapping the stock turbo for a massive one will do but if you want decently quick spool with some good power, twin scroll would be your choice twin charging is very complex, it's my favorite, but it's so complicated for a DD IMHO, huge turbo with no lag, what more can you ask for but with those upgrades, i'll do a fully built motor, meth injection (for safety more than anything else), all supporting mods, and i'll get it tuned by a guru don't just put a 35r and tune and expect your car will live, some people get lucky but not everyone-AJ
