Default Metal in oil cooler system/Flushed/new motor break in

My new and expensive motor will be going into my car soon, and when the stocker broke, there was metal flake in the oil from small end rod bearings.

The car has an extensive oil cooling system with an accusump.

I'm having the system thoroughly flushed prior to the new motor going in, but worry about residual metal flake that might be left behind by the flushing sequence.

Any thoughts on special precautions breaking in a built motor under these conditions? Any special oil filters with no bypass valves for the first 100 miles?

Thanks for thoughts.

replace the oil cooler ! don't bother cleaning it . its not worth loosing the new shortblock. replace all oil turbo feed lines . flush the turbo with oil or send it out to be decontaminated. use a stock subaru oil filter. new oil pump. make sure your tune is on the money on the get go. (AKA-AFR's)

We replace oil coolers (stock and aftermarket if fitted), oil pickups, and oil pans at a minimum when there's a failure like that. It's not worth the time and risk cleaning out the pan considering what they cost.

You should be able to get the accusump reservoir clear, but the other parts may be questionable. If it was my car I wouldn't chance reusing the lines.

I actually watched a little of that MRT video. They replace the parts and they don't even machine the blocks when they put them together LOL!

The soft lines for the Accusump and cooler setup.
