IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | I have an 07 sti and they have buggy pistons so I am already going to upgrade my pistons to cp forged pistons. I will have pretty much everything you can do to the car without getting a different turbo perrin fmic with thermal dispersant coating perrin blow through maf tube aps 70mm cai gruppe s manifold with coating ultimate racing uppipe with 44mm tial ewg agency power inlet pipe 850cc injectors agency power fuel rail walborow fuel pump invidia catless bellmouth dp blitz nur spec r catback cobb ap after a while i plan to upgrade to a stock mount gt3071r hopefully or go to a perrin rotated mount turbo.. but for now im going to throw in the forged pistons and i want to put in cams that will work with the stock turbo well and also function with great with a gt30 i want cams with avcs and i'm looking for a pretty good idle basically i want cams that will work great with the stock heads and later on work great with a gt30 what cams do you recommend and what duration? IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Well you may be disappointed with cams + the stock turbo, but indeed now is the time to do it if your motor is apart. I have cosworth 278/274 avcs cams in my STI and am happy with them. My idle isn't perfect but I believe that is more of a tune issue than an issue with the cams themselves. If I could do it again I would go with GSC cams since the GSC stg 2 cams have made more power across the board than the cosworth cams in back to back tests. The BC cams are hot now too. Keep in mind that you need to replace more than just the cams. Also valvesprings, retainers, and a lot of valve buckets. Even if you have the valvestems ground down you will probably need a couple new buckets to get the lash correct. If the cams do their job correctly you could end up needing a bigger fuel system too. |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | I have doing a bigger fuel system.. i listed all the parts above. i'm pretty much doing everything i can with stock turbo for now. so you saying gsc stg2 cams will be good with a protune on the stock turbo and with a gt30 they will function pretty swell also? |
