IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | I am finishing up my ej25 motor with just forged pistons and rods with a .05 overbore so its 100mm insted of 99.5.... I am using a stock headgasket and basicaly every thing else is stock.... I am just woundering what type and weight of oil will I have to use now????Thanks... This ad is not endorsed by this member. | S204 Racer | The fact that you swapped pistons and rods doesn't change anything. If you'd played with bearing clearances, then yeah, it'd matter. I'd stick in some 5w30 or 10w-30 dino oil for the break-in, change it a few times until the car has the final tune on it, and then switch over to a synthetic. As for brands, it's your choice - if you change your oil frequently (which you should) any of the major brands will do the job.
