Call Bill, he'll tell you what his recomendations are. He knows his stuff about tuning, I mean my car was tuned by him and I love it. It really depends how much power your looking to get. You could get 370 whp and have the block last a good 4-5 seasons, also depensing how you drive it.

My best suggestion is talk to the tuner and see what they like. As about overall power, peak power, and power band.

see what he says.

according to jeremy at crucial racing, if you use both you are retaining too much heat and running an increased risk of cracking.

I ran 400+hp on my stock block for 30k with no issues at all.

Its ALL about the tune!

Just my .02
Only thing I can say to that is you have to also think 400hp on what dyno. 400 on a mustang is going to be pushing the motor pretty dam hard. As well you are running an 07 which have HORRIBLE pistons, I should know I have a 30R that was making 385 on a dynopack and one of my piston rings went within 2 weeks, and its not just my car I know 4 other people this has happened to, All different components and different tuners. If your running an 04-06 the pistons havn't been a problem like they have on the 07's.

Granted theres many people that haven't had problems. I dont blame my piston issue on anyone but the car. I know my tuner didn't push my tune. So I am replacing my pistons with Cosworth as well I figure I am going to do the valves, springs/retainers, cams, bearings, headstuds, ect. while I am at it. I have thought about going with bigger pistons but not sure if its worth it if I am still going to be running stock rods. I have been trying to figure out if the factory rods are any good or what they can hold up to.

I agree with Cicio on most cars but I just think that the 07s are extremely temperamental and I feel any tuner would agree.

Hate to break it to you but 04-07 have the exact same pistons.

it's the tuning that breaks them.
