IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | Mine ended up smoking a ringland 3k miles after I installed and tuned my UR GT30. I track my car on Nurburgring and I think that had a lot to do with it. Temps get pretty high. On the backside of the track I was pulling uphill at 160mph when my EGT started beeping. I slowed down and looked at it and it read 1000 degrees celsius. I drove it pretty cautiously after that. Had the car retuned at 1lbs lower boost (20.5 lbs on 93 octane) and the car ran great the next time at the track. Temps stayed low. Unfortunately, it was the straw that broke the camels back. I didn't even notice until the next day. I checked my oil when the engine had cooled and it was a little low. Started the car up and it was spitting oil out the oil filler cap and pump exhaust out as well. Having a new engine built while I'm in Iraq. Axis Stg2 block, heads w/ 3 angle valve job, Kelford 272 cams, Stoptech springs and retainers, Stoptech +1mm oversized valves, koyo radiator, Process west oil cooler blah blah blah. Engine is ready and shipping to Germany next week. Can't wait to get it broke in and running good again. |
