Default Compression Test...WTF?? Help!!

Ok what is the deal here. I ran a compression test yesterday and cylinders 2-4 pulled 140 psi and 1-3 pulled 120psi.
Thats a pretty big dif...... aint??
I have had nothing but problems with this motor since....... well it was good for about a week are 2 then nothing but problems.
I pulled plugs a week ago and #2 and 4 were black and #1 and 3 were burning nice, Tan in color.

I've been told to delete the TGV, Is that right? The tumblers?

Oh yeah, 2006 STI, full built motor, GT35R, 615 awhp on C16, 26psi, 505 awhp on pump gas @ 23psi.

Please help me out!!
Thanks
Matt Powers

Sounds like you have a similar problem as me. However, you have one bank that is burning oil, not one cylinder. I bet your timing belt jumped a tooth and blew off your valvestem seals on one side.

The compression test kinda indicates that. You are going to have to take off that head and have a look in any case.

Take the head off?? GREAT, just great!! I swear I wish I would have never modded the thing.

Does anyone know of somewhere to take it in my area. Harrisburg Pa

Calm down, it comes with the territory. Who built it? They could have had the belt off one tooth or more when installing. If you are off 3 teeth or more, the valves will hit the pistons and bend (we have interference engines), causing an issue such as yours. Perhaps your builder can fix it and will work with you.

Yeah pull the timing belt cover and check to see if the timing marks are lined up.

Lol, Im calm bro, I know it comes with the territory. This project started back in Aug of 07 with just a simple (LOL) turbo upgrade.
I just got the car back a month ago, it just seems to be never ending. I guess the bugs need to be worked out.

I'll pull the cover off to see whats up and re-post

Sounds like a tooth or two on the belt. If you bent a valve I think the test would have been worse. IMO

Well, I had a similar issue in #3. Turned out I installed the secondary comp ring upside down. They are beveled to scrape oil off of the wall (directionally) and they will still pass a comp test / leakdown when installed upside down.

Yeah, sorry so long getting back guys, ok this is what I found out. I did check the marks, they all lined up so I did another comp test, driver side, 136psi, pass side, 123psi.
I talked to the builder ( Motor builder ) he said, " not worried about the numbers, not bad" Hmmm, what do you guys think? I still think its a pretty significant dif. But I'm not a motor builder.......

Another thing, THIS THING EATS OIL!!!!! 2qts every 500 miles or so. I let the builder know this within 600 miles of getting car back, he showed NO intrest in the problem what so ever. I'm really starting to wonder, when I got car back I noticed that the catch can was not bolted fast to anything as I looked closer I saw oil all over the driver side frame rail. Now here is the kicker, the catch can was leaking do to the fact that there was eletical tape used as the drain plug......... LOL, just my sh*ty luck!!

That just makes me wonder WTF else was rigged? I mean come on, how hard is it to find a bolt???

PVC system?????
Got to go, busy day, I'll check back... sorry for any mis-spelled words, running late!!!!

Yep, thats what I found out..... The motor is bad, you know, I knew something was wrong when I got the car back and the motor compartment looked like sh*t!!
Catch can lines ran over top of my piping, the catch it self was just dangling by the fuse box, it really did look as if it was just thrown in there.

I'm really picky when it comes to my motor compartment, so as I'm going threw it and I pick up the c.c to mount it I noticed oil all over that side (fuse box side).
I'm like wtf now!!
Here's the kicker, there was elictrical tape ran across the bottom of the catch can, now hanging from the oil, it was what they used for the drain plug!

The next day I'm smelling gas, bad, I start looking under the hood and the fuel reg was spitting out a real small stream of gas right where the gauge mounts.
The little brass fitting was only catching by like 2 threads. GOD Im SOOOOO GLAD THAT I FOUND THAT IN TIME!
My little girl (6 months) rides in my car.

Got go more later
