Neanderthal Racing is a user on IWSTI. Check out his members journal.

As far as cams go, your choice will depend a huge amount on your intended use. If you are looking to go drag racing with this and street-ability is not an issue then go big. If you are looking for a street stick that can idle in the rain and on humid days (i.e. it creates sufficient vacuum at idle) and does not stall out, then you need a smaller camshaft designed with little overlap. It is worth noting that many applications have made large power with the stockers.

Precisely why you have to match your cams with your intended use. If you pair a huge cam with a little restrictive VF39, your car will most likely never run right, because the VF39 does not create enough air flow to properly feed your engine with its enormous new valve events created by the cam. So when building an engine you have to REALLY do your homework before buying parts, or go with a set-up thats designed by a manufacturer to work together.

yes it will make a big difference. are you building new heads? if not you should.
the GT35R is quite a lot bigger then the stock turbo which the stock cams are designed for. the stock cam just can't flow enough to air to the turbo. more flow more air more boost more . it's all ways a good idea to ask your builder and tuner what they think is a good cam range for your engine, turbo, and application. forums can be misleading. or so i hear.

i think i will have enough power with a gt35r on a 2.5 with porting and polishing the heads.now i can only hope that the gear wouldn't brake in half. will it hold 500whp?
