Default ABS sensor damage/melting?

Has anyone actually ever had problems with the tie-rod ends or ABS sensor DUE to removing the dust shields?

I see posts on nasioc about this, but most of the people (here and there) say they have never had any problems.

Really. On the track or on the street? Tie rod ends or abs sensor?

Both of them. On the track with no heat shield or raping around the tie rod. Replaced it with Whiteline tie rod extender and ball join extender. the ABS line has a hole in it and haven't replaced it as yet.

Good to know-- Thanks for the info. I think I will cut a section of my dust shield up to put a layer between the tie rod end and the rotor.
