| STI Driver | For a couple of weeks now I have noticed surface scribe lines going around part of my right rear rotor. They look like a record but they seen to be mostly on the surface and not to deep, but still there! These lines are only on the bottom quarter of the rotor closest to the hub not on the entire surface. Could it be something in the material of the stock pad? It just seems to big of a area to be debris caught betwen the two. If it keeps going on I'll have to pull the pads to see whats going on. Are new carter pins needed or can the old ones be reused upon re-assemly when taking apart the pad assembly? Has anyone else had this happen this? This ad is not endorsed by this member. | dances with roads | Front and rear brake calipers on STi's are fixed, not floating. This can result in odd wear patterns. In addition there have been stories from folks whose rear brake pads wore out before their front pads. Jack it up, pull the pins, take a look. LET US KNOW. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (2) | Really easy to do rear brakes. Take them apart and peek around. I doubt its anything to worry about but better safe than sorry. Mileage? This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
