Default brake squeel

I have maybe 5000 miles to go on my 20,000 on ODOMETER, 05 sti, before I have to get pads. I have little or no squeel.
I seem to have been a tad too heavy in my use of the brakes! There is 5 mm left on the pads. I only use this rocket for DD.
I had no idea how expensive the Brembo's are. But they are the best brakes I have ever used.

Questions. If I continue with Brembo pads, can i assume the non squeeling will continue??

Dare I mess with other less expensive pads in terms of noise and performance?

Dust with the Brembo's seems to be no problem.

I am researching now, so in a few months I know my options.

Does the old expression, you get what you pay for apply to the Brembo pads??

Thanks

There are plenty of good brake pads out there just do some research and you will find something that suits your needs. Also I think with your mileage you would be eligible for free brake pads under warranty.

Yes i know, but the dealer was weird about, implying the possibility that it might not be done under warranty without clearly spelling it out, I joke not.

He said 1.5 mm is the number they are looking for. If it comes in at 1.7, no deal!!!

Besides, AFTER this pad, there WILL come a time when I need this knowledge that you have hinted at. You say there are many pads. Then you mention my needs.

My needs are semi aggressive DD, with minimal squeel, in other words, what the stock brakes provide.

So would you name some pads that are equal to in every aspect but high price, the stockers???

Same performance with minimal squeel- that's it.. Oh, lower price!

my pagid rs421's squeek a bit at low speed but the tradeoff is better bite and they dont have that brembo pad issue where when its pouring rain out your pads dont bit for a few secs as the water clears off.
