IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | Has anyone come up with a way to use the fake 'vent' on the side of the 2006 to run a duct to cool the brakes? I'm not sure if enough air would get in through there but maybe someone has come up with a way. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

I thought about that but was concerned that the air would bounce off the bumper and go around that point without being able to direct air into it (lower pressure area compared to the front of the bumper). Of course, you could make the scoop really big... i used the fog lights (without the lights) and it seems to work well. You can test whatever you make by routing the hose into the passenger compartment and seeing how much air/press gets to you. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (2) | Yep, the RCE kits are the best but I had to fab up my own because RCE has been out of stock for a long time. I suggest you wait till they have more and buy their kit. There is plenty of room right behind the fog lights but routing the hose so that it doesnt touch the header and so it clears the tires at full lock is tricky. I had to squash/ovalize mine to get clearance. I'm not done solving my brake heat problems so its still a work in progress for a while. |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2006 Trader Rating: (2) | Go buy color matched regular WRX fog light covers with holes for fog lights and replace those covers with the blank covers that come on the STi. Purchase the RCE Kool brake ducts and connect them to the WRX overs with preexisting fog light holes. They will act as an intake for the brakes with excellent flow. |
