Default Brake pedal went to the floor..

So I was sitting in the parking lot waiting to pick up my girlfriend and I noticed my brake pedal felt a little funny. I pushed on it really hard and it went all the way to the floor. I did the same thing again and it went slowly to the floor again. My brake light came on and I was a little confused because the p-brake wasn't on. I drove home (its less than a block) and pulled up behind my house. I pop the hood and sure enough there was about a 1/2 too 1/4 of my brake fluid left. I look down at my left front wheel well and there was brake fluid EVERYWHERE! I took a closer look and could see it looked like it was leaking from the end of the brake line where it connects to the caliper. Im like uh ok?? I have never taken the lines off before. My car has 20k on her. Im gonna take her in on monday to get fixed hopefully under warranty. Funny thing is I have some COBB SS lines and motul fluid coming in the mail that will be here on monday.

Just get some SS brake lines and new fluid (which you did mention you have on the way) and call it a day!

not too sure if you did this or not, but clean the painted areas (i.e. calipers) that the brake fluid spilt on. from what i've read, that stuff destroys paint!!

My braided steel lines did that a few months ago. Both front lines somehow loosened up and started to leak after braking hard on a freeway off ramp. Lines have been on for over a year, the car has been to half a dozen track days and a season and a half of autocross and then all of the sudden.............lines come loose. I just cleaned and tightened and no further problems but very strange happenings..............

If you don't want to take it to the dealer and want to do it yourself, here's a couple videos that might help you out:

Be aware, the hardest part will be to separate the hose/nut from the actual line. These get to be VERY tight and you will prob damage some stuff if you try it with regular wrenches. You need to use an open end wrench that actually hooks around on the open end, kinda like a "C" shape. I think it's called a flare wrench or ???

The rest of the job is very easy and just needs a little common sense. This might be the time to upgrade pads as well based on your driving style etc.
