Hi all
I am looking to purchase some steel brake lines for my STI to help get rid of the soft pedal feel. Who makes the best set for the STI. Any help would be appreciated thanks

I would recommend Cobb lines, there are no fitting issues and they are of the right quality; hence not the cheapest around

Default Poltek Endlinks and Collar upgrade!

I put on Goodridge and Motul 600 fluid, total about 100 bucks and they really do make a difference much to my surprise.

i wasn't going to get any after reading someone mention the braiding collects dirt and causes increased wear to the inner lining... but I decided to get the Cobb lines .... havn't installed yet but they look great and have a protective coating over the brading. DOT approved as well. The Goodridge lines do not have the coating as I've personlly seen these.

Hope this helps

The Goodrdridge brake lines do come silicon coated, just make sure you get the right ones. The ones made by Goodridge's Motorsport division are silicon coated and are tested at a slightly higher psi than their G-stop(uncoated) brake lines. Both sets are very good quality. Silicon isn't a necessity on brake lines, just make sure you're not rubbing on anything after you have installed them and you'll be A OK. My buddy has had a set of Goodridge G-Stops on his 2002 WRX for almost two years now and he sees track time every other month...no problems without the silicon coating whatsoever.

You can't go wrong with the STI branded SS brake lines; they are pink too. However, they will set you back a decent amount since they retail for 2.5Xs the cheapest ones on the market.

Thanks for clearing that up STiLLWILL. I never see a differentiation when I look for lines at these vendors.

Yeah the STi's would be nice, but the cost is outrageous. (like most STi parts). And if you like the pink ops: (i think pink is a nice color in small amounts but society won't let me be a man a say that) LOL... ok now I'm getting off topic.

Thanks for all your opinions. Sounds like both braided lines and better DOT brake fluid is the ticket.
