Default New Hawk HPS not stopping like stocks

I just installed front and rear Hawk HPS pads and re-surfaced my front rotors.
I am a service advisor for Acura, and paid one of my techs to install them for me (I wanted to do it myself as it is quite easy but just did not have time).
afterwards when I drive the car the brakes don't feel like they bite nearly as good as the stocks. I had the same pads on my 6mt G36 coupe w/brembos and they were great. I have already put about 100 miles on them, do they need to break in with a little more wear?

The tech that installed them for me took it out for a minute and I doubt he did. Is there anything I can do?

you should bed the brakes in and if it still doesn't help bleed the brake fluid.

Should he need to bleed the fluid if the tech installed them properly, i.e. unclipping the old pads and putthing the new in without taking the caliper or brake lines off?

yea, technically taking the pads out shouldn't affect that, but if the pedal doesn't feel very good generally a bleed will help.

I hear you there. Sometimes a little air here and there accumulates especially if the last person that bled the brakes didn't know what they were doing.

Remember brake fluid will deteriorate over time - go ahead and get some ate superblue (its a worthwhile under 20 dollar investment) and change the fluid. If you are feeling adventurous get some goodridge ss lines to really firm up the feel.

However, if you don't want to invest in all, just bleed the lines with new fluid and then bed the pads in properly. It will make a huge difference.

fluid bleeding is the most overlooked service on a car

If you have more than 15k miles or more than a year on stock fluid, bleed it. Brake fluid is hygroscopic (meaning it retains water over time). You know how your wife/gf acts when she retains water? Same overall effects

Bedding - crucial to getting good pad feel and life. You can rebed through the life of a pad.

Cutting rotors - be careful!!!!!! Stock rotors don't have alot of margin for thickness. If you cut them down to minimum specs, expect to be changing rotors soon.

Very important!! I installed Hawk Ceramic pads on a G35 sedan and at first they sucked. HOWEVER, if you break them then per the instructions on the box...after about the 4-5 stops...they kick ass. I've never seen such a change in performance before.
