Default hawk rear pads: pics of which shims used.

hi guys...like the title asks...does it matter which pad i put on the outside caliper and which on the inside?

the stock pads have a metal tab indicating which pad is for the outside piston.

thanks!

edit: new question: how do i get the shims off the old stock rear pads?
tried hitting, throwing, slamming...it wont come off...should i use the triangle ones alone for the rear? where can i purchase some new rear shims?

thanks!

edit #2: here is a pic of how i'm gonna install the pads...gonna use only the
triangle shims b/c i can't get the square shim off:

i only had the square shims on my stock pads. some people discard the stock shims, some reuse them. I reused mine.

use a flat head screwdriver to pry them off...tap the screwdriver under it straight-on (don't lift up) and they will come off.

i tried using the screwdriver method but it wont come off...if i use more pressure the shim will get damaged.

fwiw,i just used the square, shiny aluminum one...

you shouldn't have to turn your rotors unless they're warped/badly grooved. just bed them properly.

yes the shiny one you have sitting on the hawk pad.

no squeeking for 4k mi. with several autoxs. i would inspect the pads before and after each autox and did not notice any abnormal wear.

i'm on carbotechs now though.

why did u switch to carbotechs? better suit your needs?

so u didn't resurface your rotors?..i'm thinking about not resurfacing the rears.

dealer did the front pads and resurfacing for free but wouldn't do rears at no charge...so i'm doing it myself.

i didn't need to resurface when i went to hawks. i had ~4k on the stockers. the disc face was very clean and the disc showed no signs of warp. like i said, just bed in the pads according to the manufacturer or use stoptech's procedure
