I've heard good things about Motul and AP over the years. Just wondering what some of you are running this year.

Motul 600 used it in other cars and as soon as my rotors come in I'll be throwing the rotors on, fluid and some Stop Tech lines..

i've got a set of lines and some superblue to install as well.

i've heard the motul is better, but i compared the temp ranges and performance characteristics and the superblue covers the same and is much cheaper than motul and some of the other brands.

i won't know how well it is until April during my first HPDE.

Castrol SRF. It had, I believe, the highest operating temps normal and wet.

I use Valvoline Syn-Power for most my street driving as well as for motorcycle applications. It has good wet and dry and is easy to find. Super Blue is a great(better) fluid as well. Unsure what I will use on the STi as it has a bit more serious brakes

Here is a bit of ripped data.

Brand Wet Boiling Point Dry Boiling Point
Castrol SRF 518°F 590°F
Motul 600 421°F 585°F
AP-600 410°F 572°F
ATE-Super Blue 392°F 536°F
Valvoline 333°F 513°F
Castrol LMA 311°F 446°F
Ford HD 290°F 550°F
Wilwood 570 284°F 570°F
PFC-Z rated 284°F 550°F
AP-550 284°F 550°F

Ditto - not quite the highest dry (I think I have seen some proprietary that were higher) but a very high dry and definitely the highest wet (i.e. no surprise boilovers). When it counts on track (including just not wanting to run off the end of the back stretch) this is the stuff to use. High price tag but worth every last cent when you want your car to brake when you ask it to. Oh and in high humidity areas like Florida a definite must - seen a few ATE fluid equipped cars go right through the hairpin at Sebring.

For those that don't track swapping between ATE gold & blue is the way to go for street & auto-x generally as it is more affordable and still pretty reliable.

We include SRF with our track/auto-x STi upgrade.
