Default Home made brake cooling vents

Built this today. alls i need is a scoops for the front cover(fog lights on a wrx) and ill be set to go let me know what you think and if it will work or not

You want to try and get the air to the center of the rotor. I couldn't tell if the air duct will enable that or not.

just a quick warning... I can't tell for sure what kind of hose you are using from the picture, but things will get QUITE HOT (read: melting-plastic-hot) at the connection point you have made to the dust shield. Be sure to use a hose that is rated as such.

if you dont get the air to the center of the rotor you arn't getting the most cooling.

If you find that the hose is getting too hot they sell an aluminum or some kind of metal version of the same thing.

i think it's a good do it your self job. the duct looks like it will work just fine. i agree on the melting. as for the center getting the blow. well it appears that it will work. think of it this way. he is attempting to do something cool (no pun intended). and its going to do a lot better than the stuff he had on there before... nothing!!! good luck.

All right a slight update. just wanted to let you know after my first track day the left tube did not hold up. the right one is fine. later this week i will be looking for new materials i will keep you uopdated

Yeah despite my personal experience with this...it took me 3 prototypes to realize this and we then produced our kit in the format you see it in now, with air going to the center of the rotor.
