| Spec C Club | Wintertime seems to bring out the worst in cars! When my car is cold, the brakes seem to function correctly. But as I make a few harder stops as the brakes heat up (Not HARD but as you would when quickly slowing down at a stop sign), I notice that the driverside front brake starts to make a sort of grinding noise when coming to a stop (not like metal on metal as in the case of worn out pads). Obviously it's not normal, so I did a visual check on the outside pad. It's a little worn down, but still has some life left. Any clue as to what could be causing this? -Chris This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

Mine only does it on really cold mornings, like in the teens. o yea i'm on stock pads just rolled 8000 miles. 05 sti |

| Spec C Club | I'm running the stock pads on the stock rotors... Funsub, I have the opposite problem.. it's fine when the car is cold, but I had that problem when the car is warmed up. The funny thing is it only happened like a couple of times.. but enough to make you wonder WTF?! |

Yeah, it happens to me too, a few hard taps to create a small whiplash and wake you up in the morning, and the brakes are clean. ![]() This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. | |
