IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I was wondering if anyone knew where we could buy the parts needed to finish the brake ducts on our cars. Thanks Brian This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Does subaru offer the plastic pieces needed to finish this? The bottom plastic piece is needed to make it a tunnel, then a hose is needed to go from the hole to the rotor. Last edited by WE_R_ND; 04-05-2005 at 08:34 PM. Reason: messed up |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I found a brake duct kit offered by Zero Sports for the JDM. Joseph at Tarmac-USA ordered in a set (L & R). Here is a picture of an STi with the kits installed in place of the fog light covers (along with a different front body kit of thiers). It only brings the air to the inside of the wheel well, getting it from there to the spindle/rotor may prove a challenge while maintaining adequate wheel clearance. We'll see. I do have the JDM front bumper reinforcement to put in at the same time. I'll post pics of the installation and result. Here are the instructions that came with the kits - how's your Japanese? http://www.brucebacon.net/images/coolairduct1.gif http://www.brucebacon.net/images/coolairduct2.gif http://www.brucebacon.net/images/coolairduct3.gif -Bruce |

| Authorized Vendor | those won't fit cleanly as the holes won't line up. With a drill you can make them work, but for that much effort save your money and go by some sheet metal and tin snips and make your own. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Removing that little guard did help cool my brakes a bit at the track the other day. I didn't have the plastic pieces needed to do the ducts so I took those off to get more air flow into the wheel well. Seemed to give me a better feel on the pedal for a much longer time. I had brake fade, though it's my own fault, my brake fluid is a year old and didn't want to change it until I got my SS lines. |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2003 Trader Rating: (7) | Ok, I went for those WRX brake duct covers (parts link posted above). They don't fit the STi as is, but they're super thin and easy to trim with scissors. I just drilled my own holes and used some of those plastic clips to hold it in. They were pretty cheap so it's not a bad solution, but if you have access to some thin plastic you might as well make your own. Also as posted above I opened up that air exit hole to the maximum. Not sure how much it will help, but it can't hurt! |
