Default Does this sound like warped rotors?

The last 2-3k miles I've been noticing an uneveness when slowing down with constant and even brake pressure. At highway speed under heavy braking this is not noticeable and I'm not really noticing any vibrations. What I'm talking about happens between 15 mph and being fully stopped under minor brake press. The best way to describe it would be to say that the rotors seem more sticky in certain areas and less in others. Is this normal as the brakes wear, they only have 13k on them? I feel like an idiot trying to stop smoothly.

It is probably pad deposits but I would think you would feel it at high speeds as well. You could try bedding the pads again. What type of pads and rotors do you have? Stoptech has a good tech paper on this subject.

Well from what I can tell it is definitely not deposits, and the pads are bedded. Both the rotors and pads are stock and are the originals that the car came with from the factory, at this point its more annoying then anything. Feels like on, off, on, off, and so on until the car stops. Maybe it has to do with the ABS or something, but feels more like it has to do with the rotors and pads.

Not really sure what the problem could be, but if you had warped rotors, you steering wheel would pulsate when applying braking pressure, especially at higher speeds.

Yup, I'm sure it's pad deposits.

I've got that feeling too, especially after I attended a track day. Are pad deposits an urgent problem? Is there anything I need to do?

Now that I think of it my car did sit for a while a couple of times this past spring and early summer, but I would think after driving it around some over a couple of days the pad deposits would get worn down. I did do a couple of hard stops to try and clean them. The front rotors look real clean now but the rears look more like a record. Is there anything I can do to get rid of the uneveness while slow braking or is this something that is just going to get worse overtime?

Run through your bedding in procedure one mote time. That's normally enough.

As far as bedding in the bakes what would you recommend? In the past I've been just doing hard stops from 25mph, I usual do two stops, one right after the other and then drive a minute or two to cool the brakes a bit and then do an other set until I've done 3 to 5 sets. This is the method I've used in the past when cleaning the rust off, but this dose not seem to be helping for whats going on now.

I would do more like a 60mph to 30mph hard braking about 5 times for street pads. Then let them cool of and sit for a while. Don't hold your foot on the brake when you stop. That would probably do it.
