Default Stuck emergency brake

So I just go tback from deployment and I go to get my car and it wont budge. I thought the calipers were rusted on but once i pulled the tires off I noticed that they wiggle back and forth freely. So I have come to the conclusion that my e brake is stuck. It can be the only thing. So my question is has any one else had this problem? My car sat for 6 months in a garage. Now it wont budge. Is there any way to get the e brake to disengage?

yup. you should never keep the e-brake engaged while in storage...you'll need to have it adjusted now....in addition to all the other things you'll need to do from it being in storage

You may need to manually disengage the parking brake. You can do this with the wheel removed for easier access.

Just look behind the dust shield on the rear brake assembly and you'll see a small 1 inch oval, rubber cover. Pull it out and look inside and you'll see a gear with teeth on it. Turn the gear downwards about 10-20 teeth and see if it frees it up. You'll have to do it on both sides before testing it but it should release the shoe on the inside of the rotor.
