Default Torque settings please

What is the correct torque setting for bolting on the caliper to the hub? 80ft-lbs seems to big for those small bolts.

Im going to assume your speaking about the fronts here so if I am wrong sorry. V8Huntr did a great write up:
http://www.iwsti.com/forums/how-inst...ds-rotors.html

He suggests 80ft lbs and that worked for me.

Do 80 ftlbs. Don't do the 114. (fronts). The rears are 80 and I agree with you but you should be OK.

Anyhow, I got a great table in my work email on what bolts should hold what torque. I'll try to post it tomorrow man.

Realize that the calipers are not fully threaded thru. They are actually converging in threads so that the bolt locks a bit. This is the part that shears off when overtorquing and when you try to unthread it it shaves down the other threads too. I can't believe Brembo didn't radially mount these

Anyone know what the point of the plate is? It goes between the bolt and the hub??

Glad you guys got some use out of the write up! But I want to warn you that I made a mistake putting 80 ft lbs as the rear torque setting. It is actually 47.9 ft lbs. When I did the write up I copied and pasted one section and forgot to change the torque for the rears. I have since updated the thread and if you look at post #28 I attached the blow-out picture of the rear caliper with the torque setting circled.

Ahhh, yikes!!! I felt that setting was wrong. I felt the bolt getting plasticky and then it just spun. I hope the calipers are not toast . You are not supposed to heli-coil them.

Please update the guide so similar mistakes won't happen again.
