Still running stock fluid. I am not going to be doing track days so I think it will be OK. I might take it to AutoX once I am done with what I want to do--a handling car. Plan is to install sways, endlinks, x-brace and crowl brace.

Had HP+ on my previous street car, dusted a lot but worked really well.

hp+ will be ok on the track, im just not sure why you got them for street use. If you've had good experiences with them in the past thats good but i've heard they can be pretty loud.

Am going to order brake pads.. I need brake pads for street use only - no track stuff.. I see two choices for the Hawk HPS which most are recommending

These are the two choices?

CVR Motorsports - Subaru :: WRX STI :: 2004-2005 :: Brakes :: Brake Pads :: HPS Brake Pad Set

OR

CVR Motorsports - Subaru :: WRX STI :: 2004-2005 :: Brakes :: Brake Pads :: Ceramic Brake Pad Set

Both look same to me and one only costs $10 more than the other.. which one is recommended ?

Thx

I ended up buying their 4 rotor+pad brake package. Seems to be cheaper that way.

I think HPS is supposed to be a street pad. I would just get that one.

Yeah they are not that loud. I have about 200 miles on my setup now. I applied the stuff they give you lube up little parts. Then beded them in properly.

It was very quiet. Then they began to squeak a bit. A few hard stops and they are silent again. Seems that they are require the pad material to be always on the rotor to be silent--its actually the way brakes should work.

Installed Hawk HPS over the weekend... also machined my rotors and I am very impressed no squeaks or anything. Thanks to all who recommended the Hawk HPS.

FWIW... I'm running HPS pads, StopTech lines, and Motul fluid... love the combo.
