Post Garagespec shifter extenders + ASpec Shift knobs

Shifter extenders are here! We have limited quantities of:
-Black extender straight
-Black extender bent
-Polished extender bent

Why shifter extenders? After getting a short shifter installed, do you wish you could have more leverage to row through the gears? Especially harnessed in on a road course? The extenders provide an easy, yet reversible mod for those looking for more leverage and closer proximity to steering wheel.

There are 2 hex nuts provided so you can fine tune the height adjustments of the shifter to your own specifications.

Price is $28 shipped (updated 05/2007) to 48 states (Alaska, Hawaii and Canada 35 shipped)

You can read Renee's Review in his member journal http://www.iwsti.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1103778&postcount=776

I personally use the Black straight on my sti and the question about getting into reverse has come up. When I first put the extender on, it was an interesting challenge getting into reverse. In stock form, you'd have your hand on top of the shift knob and use your middle/ring finger to lift up the reverse tab, so I adapted and now when I get into reverse I have the extender in the 'flap' between my thumb and index finger. That has seemed to work great for me.

Here are Installed pics (using an ARC shift knob)

Each shift knob extender comes with a thin locking nut. Once tighten, the extender will not rotate at all.

throw is increased but with the increased leverage, I can still bang through the gears the same if not faster than in the stock position. The important thing to remember is the pivot point remains the same (the most critical part) only the portion above the pivot is increased. In track conditions, I have noticed faster shifting as the shift knob is closer to the steering wheel.
