Alright I have decided on my engine build and got the ball rolling..
I'm getting my shortblock machined and then having Weisco forged pistons, ACL race bearings, and ARP headstuds installed. Figured while everything was apart, I should throw some extra goodies on so I'm having some Tomei equal length headers installed! I've been lazy and never installed my EGT sensor for my gauge, so that's finally going to get done too
. That damn warning light on the gauge has been flashing at me for several months now, that's pretty sad.
DS1 Motrosports got me a pretty good deal and the seem like they do excellent work from what I've heard and seen, and they are located 3.3 miles from my house (I set the trip odometor
) so that is a major
for me since I can't have my car down for long. Matt from 555 Motorsports is going to tune it up for me and I think I'm going to switch over to open source and get rid of my AP to help recover some of the cost of this build. IMO, if your getting protuned, the AP is kinda useless.. atleast it is for me because I don't use it at all except for checking engine vitals.. and I can just do that with my laptop anyway and I can actually log that way so goodbye AP
I'll try and see what pictures I will be able to take of the whole process but It probably won't be much because I'm having the work done while I'm in Arizona for a week in March. I'll get more updates out then.
In the mean-time, the weather is starting to get nicer so I'm thinking its almost time for my STI "Zaino Spring Cleaning". I just got to set aside a weekend to detail and to clean up all the winter crap on the carpets. The inside has gotten pretty dirty from the winter so I'm going to really scrub everything down and get her in pristine condition again.
