Default Etune road pulls

I'm currently in the process of getting my car Etuned from BrenTuning. Just like a dyno pull I need to do 3k-redline pull at WOT in 3rd gear.

I'm only Stage 1+ but slamming the pedal down at 3k makes me worry for my engine. Isn't putting high load at low RPMs bad?

I know I'm probably overthinking it but after doing what could be 7-8+ pulls like this I don't want to negatively impact the motor.

I have people do pulls from 2-3K to redline, setup depending. I would not be worried.

You should just follow their instructions. I'm sure it's okay to roll into the throttle. My e-tune was in 4th gear 2500-6500 and I had no issues. Don't go WOT until 3500 if you are worried.

Thanks. I'm not trying to argue against the instructions of the tuner. I tend to baby the car and do pulls usually in 2nd into 3rd when I'm feeling spirited.

Just me being overcautious but if it was that bad, everyone wouldn't be tuning this way.

My e-tune was 3500-6500 in 4th gear but just follow your tuners instructions since BrenTuning has e-tuned tons of STi's and I have only read good things about their e-tunes.

They've been excellent thus far. Just loaded my first revision and it already pulls a lot harder.

Where do you guys do the pulls? WOT in 3rd or 4th can get going pretty fast, I'm just wondering what types of places you guys are able to do this uninterrupted.

I did mine normally getting onto the highway so I was already getting up to the speed limit and then some. I also did it when there was no traffic and in an area no cops hide out at.
