Mine wasn't that new. Actually it was an 87 325is Bought about 95 w 67k on it for $6800. Drove it till 2005 and 300K. Like my STI if I had one in decent shape today it would be worth near what it cost new.

I've had four DDs since 1988
The only new one was the 04 WRX. It was bought for:
4 doors
safety
performance
AWD
price: same cost as used 3 series BMRs except with new warranty

When I was married my wife had a 325 for awhile (maybe around a 2006? model). I couldn't get over the fact it didn't have a dipstick, and the dealer wouldn't do the complimentary oil changes until the computer said it was time, even if it already had 12,000 miles on the oil.

my 911 turbo was the same way.. from a cold start, you have to drive for 15m to check the oil level.

not to mention drop the motor for plugs or a clutch as previously stated..
