Default 2018 Caliper retrofit - MBC/Wheel size, rotor, pads.

I'm starting a thread on this to gather info for doing a retrofit from 2018 new brakes to 2015-2017 models.

Things to figure out:

-Require new MBC? Proportional valve difference?
-Rotor size difference? Is there any or just the caliper has 6 vs 4 pistons
-Brake pad size
-Does current 18" wheels fit with the new brakes?
-Possible to remove the ugly yellow color? (LOL)

Are these brakes more worth it to swap or better to get aftermarket 6 pistons.

I estimate these are around $900 each side just for calipers. I've bought the current model year calipers before so I'm basing on this price.

But why tho? Previous brembos did a great job for past 10+ years...
No reason to swap brembos to another brembos...

I agree. I think the biggest difference would just be the looks. Drilled rotors and yellow calipers are just bling items.

4 pistons can exert the same amount of force as 6 pistons, it's just that 6 pistons have the ability to spread that out over a larger area. But that doesn't necessarily mean shorter braking distances.

Using better pads and fluid and adding ducting to cool your current setup would be a better performance upgrade. But to each his own.

Probably better for braking in decreasing radius corners. I am interested in seeing the differences in the brakes as the tests and real world examples come out. Whether it is cost effective to get aftermarket or for more than just a visual change. If nothing else the cost of parts will probably go up which is why having parts that have been used for 10 years is nice.
