Default Tracks where STI is fast

Buttonwillow/thunderhill
Reason: corner speed around 80-90mph, mostly 2-4th gear.

Amazingly fast at Buttonwillow

Not fast at laguna seca/willow spring
Reason:
Not enough power. 4th gear is already weak while climbing hills, not to mention poor 5th gear torque.

I agree. Buttonwillow is about perfect for the car. Laguna is much higher speed and harder on brakes.

Compare it to classing lap times with competitive drivers... Fast is relative.

You are the ones who are sitting at home, talking about lap times. I'm sorry I haven't got the lap time yet. The last 2 seconds is extremely difficult.

Similar alignment spec, stock to stock with same street tire.
Surely 400hp German cars are faster but some heavy ones are very close to what Stock VA could've done at bw/th/sow.

No, it's you. You make a new thread every other day talking about vehicle set up and lap times with no real data, then tell people what they need to do in order to get the same results...with no data.

Why not just provide data and compile everything into one thread? Nobody can even keep track of all the info you give because it's scattered across 73 different threads within a 6 month period.

see attached below. My lap times at buttonwillow with old rs3/z2.
I said I could probably run 2:01 consistently with same stock car and 08r/rs3/z2 but as you've noticed it takes time.
What do you want me to say?

No, classing is a good way to compare.

I don't get it either and I think the OP is a bit of an odd one. Ultimately if you want to prove what a car can do in stock form, find a better driver.

OP, I can point you to one in your area who is now a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer at Tesla. I'm sure I can get him to show you a fast lap or two at some point (if you don't run into him at some event prior), which is really how he got his job at Tesla... Making cars run fast, and then driving them faster than nearly everyone else.

There are lots of fast drivers. Pro or non pro.
It doesn't make any sense if pro does a lap time. I'm enjoying the process. Isn't it the reason why we go track days? buy a dream car and find its limit at track. The key is the process.
On the other hand, there aren't many drivers familiar with STI. As BMI has shown, Nakaya/hattori are fast with STI. Other pro drivers like Tsuchiya are not that fast.

Surely I coudn't get the absolute limit of a stock car but as lap time improves with same setup, my car control gets better like keeping tires better at ultimate slip angle.
