My STI is scheduled to be a Heuberger the first week of November. I live in Maryland and have been thinking about flying to Colorado and driving it home instead of shipping it. If I drive it home it will be 1700 miles. Is there anything to worry about? I know about not going above 4k and not staying at the same speed or rpms for long intervals and I will change the oil at 1k. Is there anything else I should worry about? This is my first Subaru but not my first turbo car.
Totally agree! I was taking in how smooth and quiet it was last night just cruising on smooth pavement. Stark contrast from the rough roads on the ride home the other night.
Thats funny mine was blue too but had a greddy kit maxed out. I stayed with a similar blue and went with WR Blue for the sti. I sold my turbo and drove it stock for a few years before selling it in July.
Couple things. It's not the speed that necessarily needs to be varied, it's the RPM. Switch gears frequently, do lots of engine braking, especially early on. I would even engine brake from 5,000 or so RPM. The noise isn't bad by any means, if you bring ear plugs you shouldn't be driving the car in the first place. Good luck have fun.
