This is more like a BRAND NEW car VS 2002-2007 Impreza, Like I know that I can put an 02 Trunk on my 06, and I can buy used parts from an 04...but this engine compartment has to be re-engineered to be compatible with parts. Whoever jumps in this car might get a new toy, but they will spend a lot of money on new upgrades.....

I think what they should have done for 2008 was just improve the interior like the 08 and keep the exterior about the same.

I am sure the 04, 05 guys felt the same way about my 06.

And coming from the VDub world with a MK4 GTI, I felt the same way about the new GTIs and ... If we want timeless, we gotta go porsche.

All in all still love my 06 compared to that look.

That 08 is the 2nd ugliest subaru every (07 Tribeca is the worst looking)

But I THANK subaru for making the 08 so ugly! I was afraid of the "darn I should have waited one more year before I bought my new car" syndrome. You know the feeling when you buy a new car and then next year they come out with the new model with 50 more Hp and the best looking body style. THANKFULLY Subaru didn't do that, and the 07 will go down as the best WRX/Sti version. (And the limited on the top of that pile. )

Seriously, all Subaru had to do was make the limited the standard Sti, the wing optional, and from the factory come with a decent full 3" TBE like everyone adds anyways. Put an agressive tune on it from the factory and they are up to 350hp. End of conversation. But I guess not....

I think the cold hard fact is that subaru designed this car for the masses and not the die hard enthusiasts. With that type of blah styling it seems like they're trying to steal some market share from the corolla and mazda 3. The thing to remember is that while we may be very passionate about our cars, we represent a very small subset of car buyers. Hopefully the new sti will fill the void. But at least now I don't have to try and convince the wife that I need a new car if the sti is going to look like that.
