Are you guys sure its the STI? I mean I havent heard anything before now about them releasing the STI tommorow- its always been in september at the frankfurt auto show.

However, they are making a big deal about this countdown so I am surprised they are having a countdown for a car whose pics have been out for over a week.

Well I think the pics were leaked on accident so it might have not been planned. I wouldnt be surprised either way. While I would obviously like to see the STI tommorow, its early revealing wont mean an earlier release....

For that I think they would really have to spruce it up to garner a "rebirth" status.

I'm pretty confused because all the facts point to it just being the debut of the wrx (although we've all seen it). At the same time things just don't add up, like the rebirth of a legend thing and just the fact that Subaru was so good at keeping the car a secret for so long and let the ball drop a few days before the grand debut. I mean with all the hype they're creating with the countdown, you would think that they would've really made sure it wouldn't leak like that.

In the end, either Subaru or Motortrend f**ked up or they have a card up their sleeve.

I'm hoping they debut a big surprise, like the STi, 22B, Legacy STi, even a Forester STi, or even an all new SVX. If not, this will have been the biggest disappointment and let down for our whole community. Subaru should've learned from company's like Coke, if you're going to change with the time-tested proven formula, you better make sure that the new formula will be just as good or even better. I really hope they've improved the product or have something to ease the pain or else it'll just be like the New Coke disaster of the 80's.

Let''s just hope that it is one of the car's that people have mentioned. It probably wont happen, but we can all hope.

In the end, we'll find out tommorow.

My guess...

The "rebirth of a legend" line is marketing making the most of an updated WRX. It's certainly been around long enough for marketing folks to consider it a legend. Remember how marketing people think.

The pictures being leaked was likely unintentional, and at the same time totally predictable. It is impossible to send out press photos to all the major rags without said pictures leaking onto the Internet. Given the lead time on magazine production I'm surprised the pictures stayed hidden until just a few days before the show.

We can hope for something incredible. I really do want them to pull something fun out of their bag of tricks. But given the history, I'd be surprised.

I still have my hopes up that tomorrow will unveil an STi...I was bumbling around edmunds and found this article and the pictures say (Photo Courtesy of Subaru of America Inc.) Why SOA release their pictures a few days early just because others had...I'm hoping not. Less then 18 hours and we will know for sure

I am really tired so not sure if I am right but is the clock going to run down at 11:05 am today (thursday)?

I think they realeased the photos because they knew most had already seen it so I guess they saw no point in keeping photos from the public.

Well its 9:06 am right now and the site says theres one hour 58 minutes. I could be wrong but I think that 11:05 am. I am eastern time.
