Default 2008 Sti

I created a new 2008 STI Forum to host to all discussions concerning the new 2008 model.

I will expand the forum to accommodate the technical discussions that relate to the 2008 model as that information becomes available and to the extent it varies from the GD Series Impreza. This should discourage people from posting duplicate information in different areas on this forum and give them one place to discuss this specific topic.

Latest info on wiki:

Quote:
The next generation Impreza WRX photos have been released earlier than the embargo deadline by Road & Track. The official unveiling will be the 2007 New York Autoshow in April 2007. Some information is known about the new car. There will be a 5-door hatch and a sedan version available. The car is based on a shortened Legacy platform and, thus, utilizes a new multilink rear suspension. Unlike the Impreza WRX, the STI will use aluminum pieces. The STI will receive a higher degree of parts to differentiate it from its Impreza WRX brethren. According to leaked documents posted on NASIOC.com, the Impreza WRX will be sold to public starting January 2008.

Due to limited information, there are rumors abound. One rumor is the STI will only be available as a 5-door hatch. Another rumor is the Impreza WRC car will be based off the hatch. Yet another rumor is the engine will still be a EJ257, but the US-spec will now have a twin-scroll turbo.

It should now appear just before STI (GD Series), previously STI Technical, and just after STI Owners' Lounge.

All of the threads now in this forum are evidence of what happens when 1) people dont want to search or 2) want to post the information and could care less if there is another discussion going on somewhere in the forum. Telling people to use the search feature when posting news is a very good thing, but hitting people with the same response when they ask technical questions which have already been discussed may discourage them from participating in the future.
