I think this is more of a reaction on Subaru's part to all of the critcism of the Tribeca - and to a lesser extent the current Impreza. Now they're going very conservative (i.e Corolla). You can't get more vanilla than Toyota but you have to admit that they do sell a ton of cars. It's frustrating since Subaru makes such great, fun, and reliable cars. They just can't seem to get the styling down.

I hope that with the STi we'll see some nice fender flares and ground effects which will make this thing look more aggressive. It can only help.

It's weird - when I first saw the current gen Impreza I thought it was really fugly. The more aggressive lines of the STi really helped and while I never considered my car a looker now it's really begun to grow on me (I still think the current gen normal Impreza looks like A**).

as i sit here painfully, just had a seizure upon seeing the pics, and the obligitary gastric regurge to the back of the throat. i must say GREAT GOOGLEY MOOGLEY. that is bone ugly. i will never think that is nice, hot, sexy, whatever. i hunted a 05 cause i hated the grill on the 06 ,sorry, but man. im speachless. i had planned another fun car for 08 now i guess ill go to a rs4 or skyline. maybe this is a bad dream. thats it! ill wake up and this is a bad bottle of grey goose causing night terrors.

I admit that some of us will gradually change our opinion but this design is far different from the 06. Its a complete redesign and I just dont think I can ever like it enough to even think about buying one.

I went to the auto show last night and both the sedan and hatchback are much worse in person than the pix. I can't believe subaru screwed it up this badly. There were zero people looking at either model and passers by didn't even give them a second glance. I've been driving since 1971 and never had more fun than my 02 wrx and 04 sti. It looks like I'll be holding on to the sti for as long as it holds together.
