Pray that the new STi is under 3000pds lol.

I'm pretty sure that's the new Impreza. Autoblog reported a follow-up article today where they cited the edmunds article. Their point makes sense too, especially if you consider that they got seat time long enough to report on the interior build, fit, and quality. So, if they got to sit in the car, and actually saw the car, why would they post up fake pics? Doesn't make any sense to me.

The thing I'm most interested in is whether the STi will still be made in Japan or in the US.

super street says that the sti and new evo will both have 300ps + whatever that is in hp.
they also said there would be sti versions of the sedan and wagon.

idk if i agree with that or not, i still believe the sti is going to be built in japan and be the same way it is now (jdm and usdm versions coming outta japan)
the plants in the US won't build sti's, they'll be all ready for the crappy impreza/wrx.

i'm thinking the sti is going to be a whole nother car mechanical wise you know? the way it is now.

I hope they just add a hatchback to the Impreza line-up. I agree that all the cars coming from the STi division of Subaru will continue to be assembled in Japan.

I think it was said before that while the impreza and wrx will be build here, the sti will still be build in japanland.

The amount of time that's passed since we first laid eyes on the 2008 Subaru Impreza has not served to sooth our gag reflex upon seeing it again. Though cast in a different hue this time, the general shape of the new hatchback body style in conjunction with the new chrome grille make the '08 Impreza look like the bastard offspring of a Kia Spectra5 and Toyota Camry

That intercooler's been in the LGT since 2005, and has been efficient up past 300HP on stock turbos. It's a better-flowing design, meaning Subaru was able to make it a tad smaller and still cool more air more efficiently.

Should read up on the LGT engine sometime. . . many small improvements were made over the EJ257. (Plastic intake manifold, improved intercooler, etc)

Thats clearly wrong, it's not the same TD04 as in the last WRX. It almost an exact copy of the legacy gt engine as per the pic. It has the same tubing the LGT does for it's VF40.

so i woke up and got my motor trend today along with a bad taste from looking and reading the cover which just so happened to have these pictures on it. . im disappointed but hopefully this will do what i was hoping would happen for a while now, distance the WRX from the STI. Now all i have to do is hope they dont disappoint me and everyone else with the not up to standard version of the STI, they know they are up against alot with the EVO X now will they be up for the challenge . . we can only hope.

on a lighter note, i love the interior but that is it on this watered down disappointing excuse for the 25 thousand dollar turbo awd what used to be called rally car . . .
