Default 2008 STi Info........

Coming from a good buddy who works for a dealer..................

Confirmed!!! 2008 STI info!
<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->So all the big wigs from SOA and SDC are down in Texas for meetings, and 2008 product information. We just got off the phone with our rep, and he's confirmed the following (albeit not much more than we already knew):
  • 2008 STI will be offered as a 5 door hatch only
  • 2009MY STI may offer a 3 door hatchback variant
  • 2008 WRX also 5 door hatch
Didn't get to talk to him long, but this is what we were able to get out of him. More information to come once he gets back.

Also, Tribeca to receive a "very nice" face lift for MY08.

Other changes for MY08 Tribeca:
  • Rear end design change (larger rear window, squarer back)
  • 7 passenger to receive revised third row entry and third row seating adjustments.

Is the concept that we have seen pictures of, pretty much what we should expect the car to look like? If it is, i will be glad that i bought an 05'.

i like HP, and would still like the STI woop the EVO's ass no matter how ugly the STI is (not that we know what the STI will look like).

the EVO X will be weak, don't worry about it.

the OP found out they are selling less than 400 3 drs this year and he's trying to steer them away into thinking it's only in 5 door form.

j/k

<lols i hope this doesn't catch on>

I wonder does Subaru & Mitsubishi consult the public when deciding to re-design their most profitable model? You would figure they would want imput from those that have bought the car in the first place.
Hearing that the next STI will be a hatch makes me love my car even more.

is it the most profitable model here in the states? not sure about that.

the dealers are having to give away evos so that is a bad example.

i'm pretty sure they have gauged the reaction of the general public.

I hope it is a small 5 door like the Mazda 3. Can't wait for pics and all the specs.

I guess I'll be keeping mine forever
