That may have to grow in me like the 06. I don't even know what to think.

I'd be all over a hatch - if they offer a tasteful version like my LTD I might have to trade in... Same performance added usefulness - what's not to love?

Why do we need a hatch, when we already have a wagon?
If they want to go that route, make a WRX STI wagon.

subaru confirmed that the sedans will still be around, and they aren't killing the WRX

of course, it only says that the 'preza will be offered in sedan form, nothing about the STi version. It's still possible that the base impreza and WRX would be available in sedan and 5-door form (just like now) but the STi might only come in one flavor - just like now. It's possible that they'll flip it around and have the STi be 5-door only.

If the WRC car is a hatch, so will the Impreza STI.

Hopefully in the near future they will offer a sedan version also... if they care at all about the U.S. market.

Sounds like the STi should be offered in sedan and 5door hatch...

im still hoping for the coupe like the old school GC8 . . . i would buy a 2 door sti 100% as i am in the market for a new sti . .. i will buy one either way if i like it but i will not buy a 5 door or 3 door hatch unless its like a coupe style ( 3 door hatch liek the integra) other wise i may very well be looking to go to the new evo ( please i dont wanna leave subaru)

I would buy a coupe STi IF they did not put backseats in it.

SCC drives the new EVO X in their latest issue and they say the EVO is actually going upscale. They said everything in the car is an Audi knock-off. The instrument cluster layout, color, interior materials, and the DSG trans are moving the car upscale. They imply that the new EVO is shooting for more of the Audi/BMW market share than the street racer type.

I'm not so sure. They've already shown a clear intention to cater to what people want (as in STI Limited). And Mitsubishi has shown the same kind of intentions in creating an Evo wagon. I think that if it becomes clear that the market does not want a hatchback STI, Subaru won't offer it. They'll make a JDM Spec C version that satisfies any homologation rules, and bring to market what the consumer wants to buy. And I so wish that would mean... COUPE!
