Confirmed!!! 2008 STI info!

<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->So all the big wigs from SOA and SDC are down in Texas for meetings, and 2008 product information. We just got off the phone with our rep, and he's confirmed the following (albeit not much more than we already knew):
  • 2008 STI will be offered as a 5 door hatch only
  • 2009MY STI may offer a 3 door hatchback variant
  • 2008 WRX also 5 door hatch
Didn't get to talk to him long, but this is what we were able to get out of him. More information to come once he gets back.

Also, Tribeca to receive a "very nice" face lift for MY08.

Other changes for MY08 Tribeca:
  • Rear end design change (larger rear window, squarer back)
  • 7 passenger to receive revised third row entry and third row seating adjustments.

I refuse to get worked up until we know more ... but that said, if they're planning on a 5-door hatch STI, then I'm glad I'm planning on keeping my '06 until it hits 100K miles. Sedan I can live with. Three door hatch minus wing I'd consider, depending on how it came out. Five door hatch? Ick.

I'd really like to see them bring back the coupe.

Rally debut in March, available at show rooms by October. It kinda makes sense to me.

Holy ****, I love it. I think I found my next car.

I can't wait to see this beast in person. I really think people will love it when they see it in the showroom. An Aspen White/Gold would be pure sex on that car under showroom lights.
