Default Has anyone had any problems with Bluebatmobile's / Oracal film on their tailights?

My tint installer is telling me to stay away from Oracal because it is not made to go on lights ( I think he is thinking more of headlights ) and that Laminex is much better. He literally said, "is it from Blue- something or other?" and I'm like, yeah, and he is just responded with - don't use it, go with Laminex.

Has anyone had any problems with the quality/durability of the Oracal film? or is he just trying to sell me on Laminex? It seems like many of you guys have the BB/Oracal and are doing just fine.

Thanks,
John

i've not had any issues yet with the oracle tail light film provided by bluebat. its been several months since the application. the only small complaint i have would be the cutouts are slightly smaller than what some would like...

I have the Harman Motive kit... but I'm not sure what type of film they use. It's fairly thick though...

I also have the Harman Motive kit, and it's peeling...it seems the material is just too thick. I'll be replacing it next spring...

interesting, the installer is saying the Oracal stuff is too thin - as in thicker would be better, haha, who knows!

My Harman overlays are just fine... it all depends on the quality of the install.

How long have you had yours installed for? Mine were fine initially, but eventually began to peel. I had mine installed professionally last February.

I've had them on since May... so maybe I just haven't had them long enough!

In either case, I'm getting my tails painted... looks much better!

You know, you're probably right...getting them painted is really the way to go. Have you gotten a quote yet?

No, but I've had other parts painted before...

You're looking at probably $75-150 depending on where you go... It's a pretty easy job.
