| STI Driver | AMSOIL - Signature Series 0W-30 100% Synthetic Motor Oil (SSO) I heard this is supposed to be a great oil. Lasting up to 7500 miles, tested. Found it on the evo boards. Any inputs? This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2006 Trader Rating: (3) | I've run Amsoil's Series 2000 Racing Oil in my 2002 WRX and my 2005 STi. Both cars have run perfectly with it. But they also ran perfectly on non-synthetic oil. I've never used the extended drain intervals and have always stayed with 3,000 mile intervals (unless I'm doing track events in which case the oil is changed immediately before an event regardless of mileage). Series 2000 was discontinued and replaced with the Signature Series oils. Gary |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2007 Trader Rating: (1) | Running Amsoil 5W-30 for 25000 miles. No issues. Change every 3000 though. Also 75W-90 in tranny, every 10,000 miles. that has worked well for me as well. Easy shifting. I tried the EaO oil filter, but it always kind of seeped out, the subaru oil filter never leaks. Kept with the Subaru LSD 90 for the rear end though, never went synthetic. Amsoil never came out with a LSD diff oil. |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2006 Trader Rating: (3) | Check your Owner's Manual and see what oil is specified. Then see if the Signature Series oil meets that specification. For my '05 the manual says: Recommended grade and viscosity Oil grade: oil).ILSAC GF-3, which can be identified with the new API certification mark (Starburst mark) or API classification SL with the words “ENERGY CONSERVING” (if you cannot obtain the oil with SL grade, you may use SJ grade “ENERGY CONSERVING” The Amsoil web site lists these specifications for the Signature Series oil: APPLICATIONS AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil is recommended for use in gasoline engines, diesel engines (API CF, ACEA B5) and other applications requiring SAE 0W-30, 5W-30 or 10W-30 with the following worldwide specifications: • API SM/CF, SL, SJ …So it meets the API SL and SJ requirements listed in my '05 Owner's Manual. The web site also notes that it offers excellent cold flow properties down to 60 below. Gary |

| Senior STI Driver | I run Amsoil in my track car (Turbo Acura). I plan to run it in my '08 STI once I put enough miles on it. It's simply the best oil I've ever used. They have claimed that it can last upwards of 25,000 miles, although anyone to test that would be crazy. I HIGHLY recommend their engine flush as well. | Authorized Vendor | Gonna run Amsoil 5W-30 in the 08 even though my dealership gave me free oil changes for life every 3500 miles. Ran it in my 05 WRX and 06 STI and never burned a drop. Their filters are also awesome, full synthetic element vs. a paper element. They are the only filter that I know of that uses the full synthetic element. |

| Senior STI Driver | I use Amsoil 100% synthetic and Amsoil Ea012 filter in my 08. I change it every 4,000 miles due to the fact I really dont beat on the car too much. Seems to be great oil, well worth it. |

| Junior STI Driver | Running AMSOIL 5W-30 since the first oil change...however read the fine print on AMSOIL's website, they don't recommend going over the recommended change frequency with turbocharged Subaru's due to the filter screen on the feed line. I ran AMSOIL 10W-30 in my LOB Ltd when I had it, went 10,000/per change with no issues. I recommend using their oil filter along with their oil. |
