Default Looking for "b-pillar" article...

There was an article in the Dec. 2005 article of Firehouse magazine that described the extraordinary strength of Subaru bodies. In particular it talked about how you couldn't cut through the b-pillar with the jaws of life. Here is a link to a thread about it:

Subaru B Pillars, even the jaws of life can't break 'em - NASIOC

Anyway I can't find the article anywhere. I'm wondering if any of you have it, or can link me to it, what have you.

Thanks...

Yes... and I think it's one of the main reasons Subaru get's 5-star and top pick every year.

Of all the Subaru salespeople that I've come across, only one has mentioned the B-pillar rod. This was a year or so after I bought my subie (when I was scoping out the '08), but I didn't know about it until then.

What's sad... is that every time I've gone to a dealer, I ALWAYS know more about the cars, than they do...

Hell, same goes for almost ANY dealer, because my hobby is pretty much researching and reading reviews for ALL KINDS of cars when I'm at work online. When we were at Carmax last year looking at a car for the wife, I was showing the salesman all sorts of little things on the cars we test drove...

They REALLY need to train their sales people better. Same goes for almost any car company.

I can have some patience with used car dealers that deal with many different models and brands of vehicles on the lot.

I just don't understand how salesman at a new car dealership, who are surrounded by the cars and every bit of literature about them, can know so little.

The last salesman I dealt wtih knew much of nothing about the WRX/STI's yet, during my test drive, he was in the back seat telling me how he was heading to a drivers course (Track, Auto-X) with professional drivers....driving nothing but the STI for a week.

Life is just not fair!

I was hit at about anywhere from 40-50mph dead on, not even braking, on the center driver side pillar. It looked like it was a 10mph accident looking at the pillar but I already knew these pillars were nutty strong and if it was any other car I probably would be far more hurt then already am from it.
